A former Canadian porn star is finally behind bars after he was convicted of murdering and dismembering his former lover’s body before mailing several body parts to schools as well as politicians in his country. However, he is far from the spotlight after his online dating profile from prison was discovered.
Law enforcement officials arrested Luka Magnotta, 33, on June of 2012 in a Berlin cafe after an international manhunt that spanned several countries. He stood trial and was found guilty of the murder of Jun Lin, 33, in May 2012.
He was convicted in December 2014 of first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison. Magnotta is currently being held at Quebec’s Archambault Penitentiary.
Evidence began to surface of Magnotta’s crimes including an 11-minute video of Magnotta dismembering, eating, and sexually assaulting Lin’s body. He soon became known as “the Canadian Cannibal” after he mailed parts of Lin’s body including his hands and feet to politicians as well as elementary schools around his country.
In a few of the packages, he also included letters with cryptic statements and poems.
In July of 2012, Lin’s head was discovered on the edge of a Montreal lake after an anonymous source tipped officials off.
Magnotta will be eligible for parole 25 years after his arrest.
He has since made headlines yet again after his online dating profile was revealed.
The 33-year-old convict has reportedly made a posting on a site called Canadian Inmates Connect Inc., which allows convicts to discover possible civilian partners.
He is currently “seeking single white male, 28-38 years of age, white and in shape.”
