After a mob of angry parents surrounded his house last Friday night, a convicted pedophile reportedly yelled, “Bring your children to me!”
The Mirror reports that approximately 100 people gathered outside of Nigel Oldfield’s house in Rotherham, England, after they learned that the 54-year-old sex offender had been living under the radar in their neighborhood for 18 months.
Police arrested the infamous former chemistry teacher in 2002, after they found 11,000 pornographic photos of children that he had downloaded onto his computer. While in prison, the man ran a website giving tips about how to download child porn without getting caught.
Outside of prison, he is well known for arguing on the BBC and in other media that it should be legal for adults to have sex with children.
Oldfield lived in his South Yorkshire, England, home for approximately 18 months, when neighbors discovered on social media that the notorious sex offender was living in the area.
As soon as the news broke, residents wrote graffiti on Oldfield’s house and allegedly threw objects at his windows before assaulting him, according to the Daily Mail.
“I heard glass being smashed around 5pm and saw a group of people throwing objects at the windows,” said one witness who requested to remain unnamed. “More people arrived - there must have been 100 people outside shouting.”
The resident stated that Oldfield came out of the house and yelled, “Bring your children to me!”
At this point, the mob allegedly rushed toward the man.
“He was then attacked,” the witness said. “He must be used to getting a beating because I could hear him shouting, 'Is that all you've got?'”
Shortly after the mob reportedly attacked the pedophile, police arrived on scene and cordoned off the area. They escorted him into a car and left the scene.
“The disgrace is not the public disorder but the fact that we were never told this man was living in the area,” another eyewitness said. “People around here are furious. He had been living under their noses for 18 months and they had no idea.”
