Video: Michelle Beadle Talks Porn; More Likable than Erin Andrews

| by Alex Groberman

Michelle Beadle’s fast rise up the ESPN notoriety ladder is undeniable. In a very short amount of time, by virtue of her ridiculously likable personality and charming demeanor, she’s won the hearts and minds of a mostly male-dominated sports world with relative ease. And, mind you, she did it sans any nude photo/video controversies.

Erin Andrews, known for being blonde while on ESPN, a stalker-peephole-nakedness scandal that really doesn’t need to be rehashed at this point, and a subsequent appearance on “Dancing with the Stars” -- largely because of the aforementioned nakedness scandal -- is generally recognized as Beadle’s nemesis at ESPN. This mini-battle between the pair was documented in at least one Deadspin article, and then in more detail in the recently released ESPN book, “Those Guys Have All the Fun.”

The problem with Andrews has always been the fact that, despite her obvious gifts, she never really came off like someone who had much going on beneath the surface. She isn’t particularly personable, and to the nation of nerds who follow ESPN’s programming with feverish loyalty, she comes off like the snobby – albeit, beautiful – girl who is more fun to look at than talk to. This is probably why ESPN could never really build a show around her despite her massive salary, and why she goes relatively unseen on the network.

Beadle, on the flip side, has the same obvious gifts as Andrews, but she complements them with what at least comes off on TV as a great natural candor and a strangely endearing personality.

Filling in as a guest host on Regis & Kelly, Beadle showed off some more of what makes her so much more likable than Andrews in this discussion about porn with Regis:
