Everyone keeps talking about how Chelsea will stroll to the Premier League title this season. Well, after the poor recent run of results in November, Manchester United look the best suited out of the title contenders to lift the trophy come May.
Alex Ferguson’s side are going quietly about their business and despite not playing well are grinding out results to keep them in the hunt. They have overtaken Carlo Ancelotti’s men at the top of the league and look dangerous after a 7-1 thumping of Blackburn. Maybe the opposition are not the best but that result sent out a message to the Premier League proving they still want to be the best team in England.
United always take time to settle into the season and after a third of the campaign they tend hit form to ensure they will stay in touch of the early pace setters. They showed their character and mental toughness at Aston Villa a fortnight ago after they fought back from 2-0 down to earn a point inside the last ten minutes.
Many people, especially those who are regularly buying the New Man Utd Kits have learnt not to write them off because they are like a wounded animal, they never stop going.
What people forget is that they are still unbeaten this season and despite drawing a lot of games on the road, look unstoppable at Old Trafford.
Their injuries have caused problems but now they have settled back into the team and formed another important partnership at the back. This is a key factor in United’s season. Both players look composed on the ball, bring leadership to the side and are passionate about their defending. A manager’s dream.
After all the nonsense involving Wayne Rooney has been brushed under the carpet and when he starts to hit form and score the goals again, they will be complete going forward.
Chelsea are likely to recover from their in-different form and Arsenal are bound to keep grinding out results while Man City and Tottenham fancy their chances at making a title charge but United wont surrender and still possess the quality to be challenging for domestic honours.
