Tucker Carlson: Sarah Palin is a "MILF"

| by Mark Berman Opposing Views

Tucker Carlson is being criticized by his fellow conservatives, all because he dared to call Sarah Palin a "MILF." For those not familiar with the pop culture term, it means "Mothers I'd Like to..." well, we'll let you figure out the last word.

According to a report in the New York Daily News, Carlson was commenting Monday on Palin's dropping poll numbers in the first presidential battleground state of Iowa when he tweeted:

Palin's popularity falling in Iowa, but maintains lead to become supreme commander of Milfistan.

Carlson quickly deleted the post, and went back on Twitter the next day to apologize:

Apparently Charlie Sheen got control of my Twitter account last night while I was at dinner. Apologies for his behavior.

He later apologized a second time, this time without the jokes.

I'm sorry for last night's tweet. I meant absolutely no offense. Not the first dumb thing I've said. Hopefully the last.

Conservative women who often agree with Carlson came out against him, accusing him of sexism.

Michelle Malkin tweeted:

Ok, what's this about ‘MILFistan?!' Keep it in the locker room, boys. Conserv women get enuf crap from lib pantywaists. Beltway boys (u ALL know who u are) should watch their mouths.

Stacy Drake of Conservatives4Palin asked, "Is this the sort of treatment that conservative women, who want to get involved in the process, are expected to put up with? Is it okay for male columnists (conservative or otherwise) to continue objectifying women in the world of politics? No, it's not!"

However, Carlson's conservative male brethren have his back. Blogger Erick Erickson tweeted:

Maybe my sense of humor needs to be recalibrated, but when I heard @TuckerCarlson's MILFistan comment, I laughed then got out my passport.
