A 7-year-old girl named Zea waved a gay pride rainbow flag at a street preacher during ComFest in Columbus, Ohio, last Saturday.
The incident was caught on video (below), which has gone viral, noted Towleroad.com.
Ryan Bowling, the girl's father who filmed the video, told RawStory.com:
A guy started yelling past us, in response to the street preacher, and Zea asked what he was angry about. When we told her the man was responding to the preacher, who wasn’t on a microphone yet, she wanted to know what the preacher was saying.
The preacher warned Zea about divorce and pain that the world would bring her:
You can live a life full of His redeeming power. You’d have somebody to look out for you and to love you and get you through your life. Jesus Christ would give you that, this world will not give you that. This world will give you heartache, this world will give you divorce. this world will give you pain, but Jesus Christ comes to redeem people!
However, the child was unwavering as she stood with her rainbow flag. Several strangers walked up and high-fived her.
The crowd was passionately on her side, right away, shockingly so. People cried, really. I honestly don’t know that I’ve ever seen that many people looking out for her at one time. I almost didn’t film it. It was pretty powerful, and I was trying not to be in my phone. Somebody I didn’t know sniffled pretty loudly, and I realized I might be missing something kind of important.
