High school interns at Facebook make an average of $6,213 a month, according to a new report.
In a year, an intern for the social media site would make $74,556 - that’s $21,510 more than the national average. The average U.S. household in 2012 made $4,280 a month.
The report comes from job-search website Glassdoor.
"[WE] shed light on how much money some companies pay interns and to underscore the current competitive climate among employers for the best, new talent," Glassdoor says.
Silicon Valley dominated their list of the “25 Highest Paying Companies for Interns 2014.” 18 of the 25 are San Francisco area-based.
Number one is Palantir Technologies, which pays interns $7,012 a month. VMWare pays $6,966; Twitter pays $6,791; and Linkedin pays $6,230. Facebook came in fifth place, paying more than Microsoft, eBay, Google and Amazon.
