LG Electronics reportedly plans to launch a new smartphone in November that will feature a six-inch display that is curved from top to bottom.
LG will be competing with Samsung’s new smartphone, which also includes a curved display.
According to Engadget.com, LG’s new smartphone is called the “G Flex” (pictured) and is supposedly “bendable and unbreakable.”
Samsung’s new smartphone, which will be released in October, has a display that is curved horizontally side to side, but will “not be completely flexible,” says the company.
“We plan to introduce a smartphone with a curved display in South Korea in October,” Samsung’s mobile business head of strategic marketing D.J. Lee said in late September, noted Reuters.
The new Samsung smartphone is rumored to be called the “Galaxy Round,” reports Arstechnica.com.
Both Samsung and LG Electronic started selling large screen TVs, with curved screens, priced at about $9,000 this year.
