British Woman Furious After Porn Site Steals Her Facebook Photos For Advertisements

| by Emily Smith

Grace Marr was shocked when she discovered that her Facebook profile pictures had been used on an X-rated, no strings attached website without her knowledge.

The 20-year-old first discovered that her pictures had been used when a family friend contacted her. He reported that he’d seen the sidebar advertisement while searching the web last month. The advertisement used three of Marr’s images to promote “hot horny singles” in the area.

“I got a phone call from my mom’s friend who works at a computer company, and he said he saw my Facebook photos on a weird sidebar advert,” Marr said. “He didn’t get the name of the site but described it as a website that you don’t really want to be associated with.”

On Wednesday, Marr said she was horrified when she discovered that her images were used in such a manner. She warned other girls to secure their Facebook privacy settings and change their passwords once a month.

Marr added that while there are no lewd pictures of her online, she hates to think of what the website might have added to the pictures they stole.

"It was a really creepy thing to do,” Marr said. “Trawling the internet looking for a teenager’s pictures is just bizarre.”

The second year Aston University English Language student said that she wants everyone to be aware of the event so that it doesn’t happen in the future.
