World Cup: Oddsmakers Release Power Rankings For Round Of 16 Teams

| by Jonathan Wolfe

The oddsmakers over at pregame.com released their power rankings for the remaining 16 teams in the World Cup today. If you’ve got faith the Stars and Stripes could go all the way, then act now, because these bookies don’t.

Though most power rankings across the web have the Americans rated as about the 10-12th best team left in the Cup, they find themselves at number 14 on this list with 90/1 odds of winning the tournament. The only two teams slated below them are Algeria and Nigeria. Greece, who advanced out of a weak group and posted a negative goal differential doing it, is oddly ranked above the states at number 13. The United States’ next opponent -- Belgium -- is ranked seventh.

Here are the full rankings:

16. Algeria – 200/1

15. Nigeria – 200/1

14. United States – 90/1

13. Greece – 80/1

12. Switzerland – 80/1

11. Costa Rica – 50/1
