Skiing is one of those sports that doesn’t get a whole lot of media attention.
The sports world is essentially broken up into two categories: stuff that frequently lands on TV and stuff that doesn’t. If your sport doesn’t get much screentime, chances are people won’t write about it, and chances are people won’t talk about it.
Unfortunately for skiers, their particular field falls into that second grouping. Aside from a few token events over the course of a year, nobody cares about what these guys do.
Until they do something really, really cool.
Case in point: Sverre Liliequist’s recent backflip at the Swatch Skiers Cup 2013. With an avalanche closing in on him. Seriously.

If you’re a skier who wants more attention, maybe do stuff like that.
