Tim Tebow’s virginity has been a surprisingly popular topic of debate this week. You would think that with all of the New York Jets’ on-the-field woes right now there would be enough to discuss without bringing the backup quarterback’s personal religious decisions into the conversation – but no.
During the most recent episode of Showtime’s Inside the NFL, James Brown and the gang invited Lawrence Taylor on the show. Rather than just focusing on football, if for no other reason than just because of what a trainwreck L.T. has been outside the game, they decided to get a little personal.
In some weird segment where the Inside the NFL guys write faux e-mails and ask for an “Insider’s” opinion, Brown posed this question to Taylor: "Like you, I'm a clean-living, hard-hitting, good old southern boy trying to make it in The Big Apple. What was the secret to your success? Thanks in advance, Tim from the Meadowlands."
And, of course, Taylor responded like this:
If anyone is fit to give Tebow life advice, it’s definitely Taylor. This a man, after all, who managed to have a coke problem and a drinking problem during his playing career, and then, after having supposedly grown up, somehow get tangled up with a 16-year-old prostitute just a year ago. (He was 51 or 52 at the time, by the way.)
Quality role model, for sure.
The best thing anyone can do with L.T.’s advice is listen to it, nod politely, and then do the exact opposite.
