Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub injured himself in Sunday’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a second quarter quarterback sneak. He busted his foot pretty good, but managed to stay in the game.
Head coach Gary Kubiak said that it’s a “significant” injury that will keep him out even after the team’s bye next week. Matt Leinart will start in his place.
ESPN‘s Adam Schefter is actually hearing that it’s a Lisfranc injury, which is awful. If it’s a Lisfranc sprain, he can probably come back this season and play at some point. But, if there is a break in there, he’d be done for the year.
Just terrible news for a team who finally looks like they’ll earn a playoff berth. Not sure they’re going to go very far with Leinart in there.
