There were a couple peeps a few days ago that the Chicago Bears had released Chester Taylor. Those reports were refuted by the team, saying that wasn’t the case, he was still a Bear.
But, that doesn’t mean that it’s not obvious to everyone that the Bears are through with him. They signed him for way too much money last year, he he averaged 2.4 yards per carry, and Marion Barber has now replaced him as the No. 2 back in town. So, all signs point to them having no use for him and his $1.25 million salary.
So the NFP‘s report about the Bears now trying to trade him before Saturday is a little odd. We aren’t questioning their report, but what would the Bears really get for him? Isn’t it obvious to everyone that any team that wants Taylor could just sign him when they eventually cut him?
We really hope that this isn’t what GM Jerry Angelo is spending his time on. Just cut him and move on.
