What a way to kick off the season. If the San Diego Chargers don’t sell out by 5 pm ET today, they will black out Thursday night’s preseason game against the Packers.
As of Saturday, there will still 3,000 tickets remaining.
The Chargers have blacked out fans six times in the last two years. Of course, the Chargers had the opportunity to lower the blackout threshold to as low as 85%, but chose to stick with the same old counterproductive and unethical blackout policy.
They continue to black out fans even though the stadium the Chargers play in was fully financed by the public and that they are currently waging a public relations campaign to get the public to pay for a new stadium (…or else they’ll move to LA).
