The Arizona Cardinals didn’t just lose on Sunday, they lost in humiliating fashion. As if the 58-0 final score wasn’t bad enough, the Seattle Seahawks scored 38 of those points by halftime.
Part of the reason why Arizona was so bad yesterday is because of the team’s quarterback situation. John Skelton and Ryan Lindley were/are terrible. Combined, they put together this line against Seattle’s defense: 111 yards, zero touchdowns, four interceptions. Their quarterback ratings were 18.5 and 55.8, respectively. Mind you, this is a team with Larry Fitzgerald on the roster.
Understandably, popular sentiment around the league is that the Cardinals need a new quarterback. Which probably explains this tweet that Vince Young sent to Fitzgerald after the fact:
@larryfitzgerald you know I can help tell coach.— Vince Young (@VinceYoung) December 9, 2012
Young, of course, wasn’t even good enough to crack the reserves group in Buffalo this summer. He is also the guy who inadvertently labeled last year’s Philadelphia Eagles the Dream Team – a moniker they begrudgingly wore around their necks until they collapsed underneath everyone’s expectations.
That said, it’s hard to imagine Young being any worse than what’s currently going on in Arizona.
