After months of speculation and rumors, the 2015 NFL Draft finally begins on April 30. The draft will take place in Chicago, where the NFL will inaugurate Draft Town for the fans to enjoy for the weekend.
The city is putting its final touches on the fan fest which will take place at Congress Plaza in Grant Park, and it will include live music, food and drinks, photo ops and football clinics.
This is the first time the NFL has done anything like this. It is trying to bring more fans and making the experience more interactive for the fans.
“The Vince Lombardi trophy will be here. You can come get your photo taken with it,” Mary Pat Augenthaler, vice president of events for the NFL, said. “We’ll also have very large displays from the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio that will bring some football history here to Chicago.”
The event will also feature a combine corner, where fans will be able to simulate a combine and run drills like the once the college prospects go through—40-yard dash, vertical jump and long jump.
The event will be free and it will run from Thursday, April 30 at 4 p.m. until Saturday, May 2 at 7 p.m. where the event will culminate with a live concert.
