Great size and speed. Has fantastic concentration while ball is in the air. Hand eye coordination is one of the best in the class which allows him to get his hands on the ball and make the catch both in the air and in coverage. Uses his body purposefully to shield off defenders. Good route runner, can improve with coaching. Moves quickly after the catch to get more yardage or the score. Has a tendency to use his body to trap the ball, but uses his hands to make the catch.
Needs to work on separating himself from DBs, body control, and work harder going after the throw, not just allowing the ball to come to him.
Criner was unsure if he would play this season or not due to an undisclosed personal situation this summer followed by an appendectomy which kept him out of the Oklahoma State game. He also was limited in a couple games with minor hand and knee injuries. He was QB Nick Foles favorite target, but Foles spread the ball around as seven other receivers had more than 20 receptions. With all that said, Criner still finished the year with 75 catches for 956 yards and 11 TDs.
