Nebraska Cornhuskers Move Up in AP, Coaches Polls (Complete Rankings)

| by Alex Groberman

It’s exactly the way it should be. Coming into the 2011 season, just about everyone agreed that the Big Ten battle would ultimately come down to the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Wisconsin Badgers. Well, a week shy of their highly anticipated showdown, the two teams find themselves right next to each other in both the AP and Coaches Polls at No. 7 and 8, respectively.

Following a dominant second half showing in their 38-14 victory over the Wyoming Cowboys on Saturday, the Huskers moved up from No. 9 to 8 in the ranks. This makes it the second time in as many weeks that they have climbed the charts.

Needless to say, next week’s heavyweight bout between Nebraska and Wisconsin will have serious, season-changing repercussions on all the polls.
