Alabama, USC, LSU, Oregon, Oklahoma Sit Atop AP, USA Today Top 25 Polls (Full Rankings)

| by Alex Groberman

After seeing Alabama dismantle Michigan and USC destroy Hawaii, the powers that be who vote in the AP and USA Today Polls decided that the latter performance wasn’t as impressive as the former.

With one week of college football in the books, Nick Saban and his Crimson Tide now officially sit atop both polls – followed by USC, LSU and Oregon.

Oklahoma rounded out the top five, despite a less than stellar showing versus UTEP.

This week, the AP and USA Today voters actually felt the same way about the top seven teams, before ultimately disagreeing when it came to No. 8. AP voters thought Arkansas belonged in that spot whereas USA Today voters gave West Virginia the nod.

Other interesting notes from both polls: South Carolina stayed at No. 9 in both polls despite their lackluster performance against Vanderbilt. Boise State stuck around in the USA Today top 25 despite a loss to Michigan State. Michigan remained in the top 20 in both polls, despite getting embarrassed by Alabama. And an Andrew Luck-less Stanford team barely squeaked into the AP top 25.

Keep an eye on how Nebraska fares versus UCLA this Saturday. If the Bruins can offer a repeat performance of what happened last week, they could very well knock the Huskers out of the top 20.
