2012 NFL Mock Draft: Top Atlanta Falcons Target

| by

Last night we posted part one of our three part roundtable discussion as we discussed the Falcons draft strategy. This time we are going to look at that one player that each of us wants the Falcons to draft more than anybody else who might be available when we pick.

QUESTION: Who is the one player that you want the Falcons to draft this weekend more than any other player?

Eric (@GentlemanMashr): The one player I would like to see the Falcons take early, is Vinny Curry. They may just miss out on him - but if he's there at 55, he fills a need while also providing good value. Not only that - he provides versatility as a potential OLB in any 3-4 sets Mike Nolan installs.

Matt (@mFalcons5): I want to name a handful of players that are looking to be unlikely to be available at 55.  I can name one player who should absolutely be available with our 3rd round pick that I love.  Ladarius Green.  6'6", almost 240lbs, with huge arms, providing a big vertical target for Ryan while learning behind Tony Gonzalez.

Mike (@ColossalChicken): If I could draft one player for Atlanta that I believe will be available at #55 it would be Jayron Hosley. He has elite ball skills, and would immediately start at nickel. This would give Atlanta time to figure things out on defense, and who knows, if Brent Grimes doesn’t resign or Dunta Robinson has a bad year…Jayron will be ready to start in 2013.

Kevin (@CFBZ): I'm holding out for a hog molly. The Falcons OL got dominated last year in the playoffs and we need more bodies that will compete and make the team better. Give me Kelechi Osemele or Matt McCants at #55 and I'm good to go. It's not a sexy pick but it's a needed pick.

Editor Note: This roundtable was completed prior to the Asante Samuel trade and Jayron Hosley's positive drug test becoming public news.
