South Carolina basketball got welcome news today as Tyrone Johnson elected to end the suspense and make it known that he will transfer to the Gamecocks from Villanova. The 6-foot-2 guard will enroll at USC for the 2013 spring semester and will be eligible to play the day after South Carolina's 2013 fall semester exams.
This is a nice pick-up for Coach Frank Martin as Johnson brings leadership and versatility to the backcourt. Coming out of high school he was a four star recruit, check out these highlights:

Now you see why this is a big recruit for the program. He will have three years to play at USC and expect him to help establish the "new" Gamecocks basketball program under Coach Martin.
