The Los Angeles Lakers’ most recent embarrassment came in the form of a 113-103 loss to the Orlando Magic. This game obviously received a certain amount of hype because it marked the first time Dwight Howard was playing against his old team, but all of that nonsense quickly dissipated when folks realized that the star-laden Lakers very well might end up losing.
Which they did.
Dwight Howard finished with 21 points and 15 rebounds in the outing; however, he also choked at the free throw line when Orlando began purposely fouling him. When it was all said and done, his nine-of-21 from the charity stripe proved to be the difference in this one.
After the game, understandably, he was a bit frustrated.
For those keeping track at home, the Lakers are 8-9 right now. Dwight is a free agent this summer. If this team doesn’t fix itself before year’s end, it wouldn't be particularly shocking to see him swap out his current purple and gold for a Dallas Mavericks uniform next season.
