The world’s worst kept secret is finally no longer a secret. Kobe and Vanessa Bryant will not be getting a divorce, the couple announced on a variety of social media accounts.
You will recall, back in 2011 these two made headlines when -- sort of out of the blue -- Vanessa decided that she was finally ready to end her marriage to the Los Angeles Lakers superstar. Tons of titillating rumors emerged as a result (Vanessa supposedly dating boxer Victor Ortiz, Kobe having slept with 105 other women, Vanessa waiting 10 years to get more of Kobe’s money, etc.), but none of them were ever confirmed.
In fact, based on how the two continued to seemingly dole on each other, it became increasingly clear that they didn’t have any real intentions of separating. Aside from Kobe transferring ownership of several expensive homes to his better half, there was no actual legitimate fallout from their divorce proceedings.
And so, when word came down that the happy couple was going to give it one more try, nobody was particularly shocked.
"We are pleased to announce that we have reconciled," Vanessa Bryant posted on Instagram this past Friday.
"Our divorce action will be dismissed. We are looking forward to our future together."
Kobe, for his part, posted this to Facebook:
"I am happy to say that Vanessa and I are moving on with our lives together as a family. When the show ends and the music stops, the journey is made beautiful by having that someone to share it with. Thank you all for your support and prayers! Much luv, Mamba out.”
So there you go. All’s well that ends well.
