DeMarcus Cousins is one of the most frustrating players in the NBA today. Ever since his days at Kentucky, the file on him has always been the same: he is an ultra-talented head case.
Are some of his problems more the byproduct of his reputation than his actual antics? Yes. But his reputation is his reputation for a reason.
On Monday night, Cousins was ejected from what would eventually be the Sacramento Kings’ 98-91 loss to the Utah Jazz. Getting ejected is bad enough, but the manner in which Cousins got booted adds a whole new level of embarrassment to the situation.
Because he got kicked out at halftime. Yes, you read that correctly – Cousins somehow managed to get himself ejected from a game during halftime.
Cousins earned a technical with slightly more than two minutes remaining in the first half. Once the second quarter ended, the 22-year-old approached a referee demanding to know what he did. In his quest to get an answer, he earned a second one.
Just DeMarcus Cousins being DeMarcus Cousins.
