Furniture Company Refunding Customers $1.5 Million In Furniture After Ohio State Win

A furniture company will be giving away $1.5 million worth of furniture after placing a huge bet on the College Football Playoff National Championship.

According to reports, Morris Furniture Company ran a promotion at 15 of its Ashley Furniture HomeStore and Better Sleep Shops in Ohio and Northern Kentucky, vowing that if Ohio State won against the University of Oregon by seven points or more, they would refund purchases for people who spent $1,999 or more on furniture between December 17 and January 1. In the end, Ohio State wound up winning the game 42 to 20.

Rob Klaben, vice president of advertising and marketing at Morris Furniture, said that around 500 customers who made purchases at qualifying stores will get their money back, and although many believe that Morris will have to pay the $1.5 million, Klaben confirms that a third-party company will actually be cutting the checks.

“We did work with a third-party company that underwrote the promotion. So we’re excited to see a win," Klaben told ABC News. "It’s not inexpensive to have this kind of promotion."

Thanks to the promotion and Ohio State’s win, hundreds of lucky customers in Ohio and Kentucky will be getting their money back for brand new furniture.
