As far as Phil Davis is concerned, he hopes Rashad Evans stops Jon Jones and claims the UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 145: Jones vs. Evans. The card, which will be held in Atlanta, goes down April 21.
For Davis, a win by Evans would help the sting of suffering his first career loss to "Suga" last month at UFC on FOX 3. Evans claimed a decision victory over "Mr. Wonderful" in the main event.
"Part of me wants to say I don't think (Evans) will win, but honestly, I think I'm rootin' for Rashad," said Davis, while appearing on a recent episode of Inside MMA. "I pretty much have to, because I lost to him. So, at this point, I'm gonna say he's gonna win."
Davis left the fight Evans in relative good health, so a return to the Octagon could be in the near future for the former Penn State University wrestling standout. Davis is 9-1 in his brief MMA career.
