UFC fighter Ronda Rousey knows a thing or two about fighting and winning. During a segment on ESPN’s First Take, Rousey picked Manny Pacquiao to win the Fight of the Century between him and Floyd Mayweather and gave her reasons.
"It's a very, very close fight," Rousey said. "It really is, but Manny is a good friend of mine and I gotta stick up for my friends.”
Stephen A. Smith then challenged her by saying that being friends is the only reason why she is picking him.
“It’s not just that,” Rousey responded. “I really believe if he doesn’t just jump in and If he's just really relentless pressure and uses all of his speed, I think he's going to give Floyd an extremely hard time. He presents some very unique problems that Floyd hasn't dealt with yet."
Smith continued to challenge Rousey’s pick by asking her different questions. One of the questions he asked was if she was ignoring the “defensive brilliance of Floyd Mayweather Jr.
"I'm not ignoring it at all -- I know that Floyd is an extremely dangerous guy for Manny to fight, especially because he's such a great counter-puncher," Rousey said. "That's why I said that Manny has to not jump in the entire time. If he jumps in the way that he did with Marquez, it's not going to work out."
Rousey knows about how jumping in can hurt you. She recently beat Cat Zingano in 14 seconds after Zingano attacked her right as the fight started and Rousey got her on an armbar.
