The highly anticipated fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather is less than a week away, so it’s time to start making plans to watch the fight.
If you’re not one of the lucky few who will be in attendance at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas May 2, where the cheapest public tickets are $1,500, you’ll have to pay $99 to watch it on pay-per-view. If you still don’t want to pay the highest price for a pay-per-view event ever, then there is one option that will cost you nothing, reports The Washington Post.
According to the World Boxing Council, the fight will be aired for free in Mexico. The two major TV networks in Mexico — Televisa and Azteca — have agreed to show the fight at no cost.
“Televisa and Azteca must be recognized for their great commitment, for bringing to Mexico this bout for free,” WBC told TMZ. “This has never, ever happened in any country of the world.”
Mexico is one of the fight’s biggest sponsors, including the official beer of the fight, Tecate.
So if you don’t want to spend anything to watch the fight, your best bet might be to head south of the border and enjoy an ice cold Tecate while watching the fight of the century.
