Woman Humiliated When Ex-Boyfriend Posts 'Revenge Porn' Pics Of Her On Social Media Following Breakup

A 20-year-old Welsh mother is speaking out about how her ex-boyfriend posted “revenge porn” pictures of her on the Internet in the hopes that women will stop sending explicit pictures to the people they’re dating.

Reports say Cazine McCarthy sent her then-boyfriend a photo and video of herself in lingerie. After she broke up with him for being “aggressive and controlling,” he reportedly posted them to her Instagram account as an act of revenge. To make matters worse, when McCarthy tried to take them down, she says she discovered 22-year-old Nathan Lloyd had changed her password.

“I would never have thought that that brief moment of madness back then would have caused me so much grief and heartache,” McCarthy said. “I sent a video and image of myself to Nathan because he was working away and kept asking. I was unsure at first but he reassured me. He said I could trust him and that he would never show anyone else. Looking back it was stupid and I’d never do it again.”

McCarthy says she hopes that by speaking out about her experience, other women will stop and think before sending explicit photos to others, even people they love and trust.

“Women have to protect themselves. Not knowing where my picture has been shared is so frightening,” McCarthy said.

McCarthy reportedly broke up with Lloyd after he began being aggressive, and once the photos were posted after their breakup, she says her entire life changed.

“I’ve lost total control,” McCarthy admitted. “I know people locally are talking about me and everyone knows what happened. I keep thinking that people might have screengrabbed the video and shared it with friends. You can see my face in the picture but not in the video. Everyone knew it was me though because of the tattoo on my right side and it’s obvious that I was recording in my house. I couldn’t even deny it. What’s worse is that my followers would have thought I wanted them to see me naked. It was mortifying.”

The photo and video have since been removed after McCarthy’s friends reported them to the social media site, but the 20-year-old says she hopes this teaches a valuable lesson to other women.

“Looking back I wouldn’t have sent him the photo or the video but I can’t change what happened,” McCarthy said. “What I can do is discourage other young women from making the same mistake. Even if you think you love and trust someone you don’t know how they will react when you break up.”

Lloyd reportedly was ordered to pay court costs and attend a program for building relationships for 24 months after McCarthy filed for a restraining order against him.
