A woman in Minneapolis grew tired of being catcalled on the street all the time and decided to do something about it.
Instead of just ignoring the men harassing her, she created some cards that she hands out to men after they make unwanted comments as she walks by.
“Have you ever had one of those wonderful days when everything seems to be going right and there’s a little skip in your step for no particular reason?” one of the cards rhetorically asks. “Well, I was having one of those days until you felt the need to comment on my appearance. It’s not a compliment. It’s harassment. Next time keep it to yourself.”

In addition to the cards, the woman started confronting the men catcalling her and discreetly filming their conversations. The rationale used by many of the men to defend their comments makes it pretty clear why this is such a frustrating problem for women. Statements like “Women are put on this earth to satisfy a man, so if she feels offended, she shouldn’t have ever been born” are sadly common.
