A Texas woman was rescued from the West Waco library after spending the weekend trapped inside the bathroom.
At around 7 a.m. on April 4, employees at West Waco library reportedly discovered a woman in the bathroom who had been there since the night of April 2.
Paramedics were called in to the library to help the woman, who spent roughly 36 hours locked in the bathroom, the Waco Tribune reports.
City of Waco spokesman Larry Holze said in a statement he was told the woman was elderly, but he did not know her exact age.
Holes said the woman entered the bathroom on the evening of April 2 around closing time. The library is closed on Sundays, making it impossible for the woman to be discovered on April 3.
The woman reportedly got stuck in a bathroom stall and was unable to get herself out. She did not have a cell phone to call for help.
“We usually check those things but this time we did not,” Holze said, according to KWTX.
The woman has been confirmed to be uninjured and in good health following the incident.
