One California man is suing McDonald’s after being given only one napkin with his meal.
Webster Lucas went into a McDonald’s in Pacoima on Jan. 19 and ordered a Quarter Pounder Deluxe. After seeing he was only given one napkin with his meal, he went up to the counter to ask for more, but said the manager rudely rejected his request, insisting they already gave him some.
“I should have went to eat at the Jack-in-the-Box because I didn’t come here to argue over napkins. I came here to eat,” Lucas, who is black, said, according to the lawsuit.
He says the manager, who was Mexican-American, mumbled something about “you people.”
Lucas later emailed the general manager to complain about the incident, claiming he couldn’t work because of the “undue mental anguish and the intentional infliction of emotional distress ” he was suffering.
In the email he says he reached out to the store manager again via phone and says the manager was still "hostile and unreasonable.”
He says in return he was offered free burgers.
Lucas is now suing the global fast food chain for a whopping $1.5 million.
