'The View' Blasts Trump For Alleged Freudian Slip

Did President Donald Trump accidentally tweet a Freudian slip?

Hosts of "The View" seem to think so and questioned Trump's tweet on their July 10 show.

"If Chelsea Clinton were asked to hold the seat for her mother, as her mother gave our country away, the Fake News would say CHELSEA FOR PRES!" wrote Trump in response the public outrage that first daughter Ivanka Trump had a seat during a meeting at the G-20 summit.

"Can you put that back up again?" a stunned Whoopi asked. "Now, is this something we should be paying attention to?"

"As her mother gave our country away," Goldberg quoted. "Is that what he’s doing? Because, you know, one of the things I find interesting about him is he always lets you know -- remember when he said, 'It’s all fake news. It’s all fake this. It’s a rigged election.'"

Her colleagues agreed it was a suspicious comment.

"Well, it was rigged in his favor," chimed in co-host Joy Behar.

"That’s the point," responded Goldberg said. "That’s an interesting choice of words."

"A Freudian slip, perhaps," colleague Sunny Hostin added.

Many on social media were also wary of Trump's tweet.

"Glad to know that I'm not the only one who thought that was a poor if not revealing choice of words," wrote one RawStory reader. "Yes, he IS giving the country away, though I suspect he's selling it more likely. No profit, no gain."

"He's the biggest con-man the world has ever seen," added another. "If he didn't BS his phony successful image into the Apprentice TV thing and BS the world into thinking he is a great deal-maker, he'd be the sleaziest used-car salesman in NY."

"After listening to Rex Tillerson tell this country that the business he has with Russia is too important to worry about election hacking - Donald and his admin are no longer hiding what is going on," agreed a third person.

"The View" hosts weren't the only public figures to comment on Trump's unusual choice of words. Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton herself also offered her take on the tweet.

"Good morning Mr. President," she tweeted. "It would never have occurred to my mother or my father to ask me. Were you giving our country away? Hoping not."

"Let's get real," chimed in another Twitter user. "If Chelsea sat in POTUS HRC's seat for five minutes everybody from Sean Hannity to Paul Ryan would be screaming impeachment."
