Los Angeles is famous for its police chases, but a suspected car thief took it one step further and tried to escape the cops on a skateboard last Monday.
After the alleged thief crashed a black BMW into several cars, he flung the car door open, ran across several lanes of traffic, jogged up a sidewalk and hopped on his longboard, noted CNN (video below).
The unidentified suspect gave up trying to skateboard after a few seconds and ran across another street where he was blocked again when a red truck pulled in front of him. The suspect ran around the red truck, but the same vehicle blocked him a second time on a sidewalk, and police made their arrest.
The truck was driven by former reality TV star and repo man Lou Pizarro.
"I seen the guy running with a skateboard in his hand, and he's running from the cops, they're like right on him, there's about six or seven cops, and he got on his skateboard and he started moving, and it was just instinct just to block the guy off, slow him down a little bit," Pizarro told KABC. "That's all I could do."
