It is an iconic image of the 1960s -- a bunch of hippies hanging out in a Volkswagen bus. That image could make a comeback with a 21st century twist -- electricity.
Volkswagen said the Bulli can go up to 186.4 miles on a single battery charge. That's impressive, considering the all-electric Nissan Leaf is rated at just 73 miles.
The original bus was made from 1950-1967. The concept is slightly shorter and wider, with a less boxy front. But it features the three-person bench seat in the front and the two-tone paint job from the original.
Volkswagen hasn't said whether the concept will go into production.
