A picture showing a dad asleep under his son's hospital crib has been widely shared on social media.
Amy Palmer posted the photo of her husband Andre lying on a pillow and the hard floor beneath his son's bed, Daily Mail reported.
Twenty-month-old Andre Jesse (AJ) was taken to hospital after suffering an asthma attack.
Andre had just finished working the graveyard shift. He arrived at AJ’s hospital room, which contained only a sleeping chair and a crib. Amy was already asleep in the chair, having spent the night there. When she awoke, she noticed Andre asleep on the floor.
"This is a picture of a hard working man dedicated to his family," Amy Palmer wrote, according to the Mail. "After working all night third shift, he's right here with his son who is in the hospital."
By the afternoon of July 7, the picture had over 5,000 likes on Facebook.
Amy wrote later that in the picture, she saw “a man who worked all night, who could have went home to go to sleep (I wouldn't have minded knowing he worked all night), who could have asked me to get up so he could lay down.”
KTRK reassured its readers that Amy did not leave her husband asleep under the crib for long.
Amy also pointed out that the hospital was really good to them and that if staff had known her husband was asleep on the floor, they would have probably offered him a bed.
She later wrote another post to update people on AJ.
“Our son is doing much better and is now at home resting. Thanks again for all of the support, we truly are so appreciative!!!!” she wrote, the Mail reported.
“I’m so glad that this touched so many people,” she added in an interview with KTRK.
