The Secret To Cooking An Egg Inside Out (Video)

| by Dominic Kelly

If you’ve ever wondered how to boil an egg with the yolk on the outside and the white in the center, a new video shows you how.

In a viral video uploaded to YouTube, a Japanese chef shows how anyone can flip the contents of an egg by putting it through a “spinning” process.

The first step of the process is to hold a flashlight up to the bottom of the egg to check the color. After this, wrap the egg completely in tape while keeping a portion of the top exposed. Then, take a pair of pantyhose, tie a knot at one end, place the egg into the opening, and use a wire or twist tie to secure it into place. Hold the ends of the pantyhose together and proceed to spin the egg over and over.

Once the spinning is done, remove the egg from the pantyhose, and with the tape still on, check the color of the egg. If it’s much darker than before, you’re on the right track. Place the egg back into the pantyhose and spin it some more. Once again, remove the egg and check the color. When it’s dark, it’s time to cook the egg.

Place the egg, with the tape still on, in a pot of water and get close to a boil. Keep the egg in the pot for 10 to 15 minutes while continuously turning it. Then, turn off the heat and let it sit in the water for five minutes.

Finally, take the egg out of the hot water and place it into an ice bath. Remove the tape and the shell, and the egg should be yellow. When the egg is cut into, it should appear as though the white and the yolk traded places.
