In her recently published book, a Texas waitress claims she received $1,000 in tips on two separate occasions from conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, then donated the money to an abortion charity.
Author and waitress at a high class Dallas steakhouse Merritt Tierce wrote in her novel “Love Me Back” about various experiences as a waitress. On two occasions, Tierce claimed that Limbaugh and his friend, sportscaster Al Michaels, dined at the restaurant and left generous tips. However, Tierce decided she couldn’t keep the “blood money” for herself.
“It felt like laundering the money in a good way,” Tierce, who donated her tips to an abortion charity, said. “He’s such an obvious target for any feminist or sane person.”
Tierce added that it was strange he had tipped such a large amount, and argued that Limbaugh is “evil incarnate” in some ways.
Tierce donated a portion of the money to the Texas Equal Abortion (TEA) Fund, a charity that funds abortions for low-income women. However, it’s unclear how much of the actual tip she donated, since she didn’t specify an exact amount.
At the time of the donation, Tierce was reportedly the executive director for the TEA Fund.
