Two Florida men, both 25-years-old, robbed a defenseless man who was born without arms, according to authorities.
Police arrested Oliver Bozeman and Courtney Edge for taking $300 from Havalah Pitts on Oct. 4.
Bozeman appeared in court for the first time on Wednesday, where Judge John Hurley said Havalah “had no way to defend himself.”
The robbery took place in October in Pompano Beach, but cops were only able to make the arrests on Tuesday.
“These two men picked a defenseless victim, a man with no arms, and stole the money from his pockets,” sheriff’s spokeswoman Dani Moschella told the Sun-Sentinel. “It was a vile act, a new low for criminals.”
Both men were charged with robbery and abuse to an elderly or disabled adult without great harm.
Hurley ordered Edge and Bozeman to be held on $55,000 bond. Bozeman, however, was exempt because he was already out on bond from a different case.
Hurley said Bozeman has an extensive criminal record including past strong-arm, or the use of force, robberies.
