North Carolina woman Tequila Cherry was using her cellphone while driving and caused a crash that killed her father, police say.
Cherry was charged last week in connection to the fatal crash, My Fox 8 reports. She was reportedly driving with a revoked license when she and her father James headed towards a family friend's home.
While driving north on Connelly Springs Road in Connelly Springs, North Carolina, the 35-year-old woman looked down briefly to type the house address into her Google maps application. When she looked up, she was driving over the center line, The Charlotte Observer reports.
Her suburban hit a black pickup truck and a black Jeep.
James was pronounced dead on the scene. Two other people were taken to the hospital and the remaining victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Cherry was charged this week for driving with a revoked license at the time of the incident.
North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper F.J. Beam said he plans to present the case to the Caldwell District Attorney's office to see if additional charges will be brought against Cherry.
