Victorville, California, police are investigating after a newborn baby was reportedly found dead near an Intersection on Dec. 6.
Victorville resident Lisa Marie Amador was walking when a passerby flagged her down to tell her that she found a newborn girl near a Victorville wall sign and was unsure if the child was still breathing, KTLA reports.
The baby was lying in the dirt near the wall sign in front of several local businesses.
“I walked up to the baby and she wasn’t breathing,” Amador told KTLA.
The girl, according to Amador, was “purple” and covered in blood. Her umbilical cord was still attached and her hair was “frozen…like she was sitting there and froze overnight.”
“Like, someone had the baby and then dumped it,” she said.
Amador said she started crying and wanted to pick up the baby and hold her.
Homicide investigators eventually cleared the scene, and authorities have not yet released details about the investigation.
