A teen who set out on a hike naked, saying she was going on a 'spiritual journey,' is now missing.
The teen was in Vancouver, Wash. and told a friend of hers that she was going to take her journey to Canyon Creek Campground around 5 p.m. on Sunday.
She said she would return that night but she never came back. Undersheriff of Skamania County, Dave Cox, said that her friend reported her missing on Monday after midnight.
She was only wearing a fanny pack, which contained a small knife, a compass and a few other items. Temperatures dropped to the low 50s that night.
"I don't know if she took off on a trail or what," Cox said.
Vancouver is around 60 miles from Portland and is heavily wooded. Cox said two teams with four to five people will be searching the area to find the teen.
They have asked nearby communities to put together search and rescue teams. They do not know if the teen was on drugs at the time of her 'spiritual journey.'
