If one suspects their spouse of cheating, it might be smart to check out one of the top ten restaurants cheating date website Ashley Madison ranked as the most popular places for extramarital affairs to date.
Chain restaurants make up the top ten, with Morton's Steakhouse topping the list at number one.
The site polled 42,890 of its users and found that they frequently visited the steakhouse when they took their lover out on a date.
"Steakhouses are always a popular affair destination since they're not only dimly lit but also commonly found in business districts, close to hotels where these types of dates typically end," Ashley Madison founder and CEO Noel Biderman said.
Other restaurants that made the list include Chili's, P.F. Chang's, The Cheesecake Factory and Red Lobster.
Biderman said chain restaurants are safe for affairs since they are in many towns, and cheaters like to bring their dates at least 20 miles away from their homes.
"Chain restaurants are larger and more conspicuous," he said. Smaller, privately-owned restaurants are less popular among the cheating crowd.
Other restaurants that just barely missed the top ten were Italian restaurant Cipriani and Blue Fin, a restaurant in Times Square.
Biderman said all of these places are not necessarily romantic, so the cheater's partner would not be likely to question it if they saw a charge appear from there.
