A Michigan woman allegedly attacked her parents, stabbing one with a knife and slashing the other with a hatchet. Both parents survived the attack, which took place early Wednesday in Wyoming, Mich.
The parents were able to flee in their car just after 1:00 a.m. and flag down an officer. A SWAT team and negotiators reported to the scene believing the daughter was still inside the house, but around 7:15 a.m. they determined she was gone.
Both parents were taken to the hospital where the mother is reportedly in stable condition and the father was released after being treated for lacerations.
Authorities have not released the identities or ages of the woman or her parents, nor have they revealed a possible motive for the attack. Captain of the Wyoming police Kip Snyder said they do not believe the public is in danger.
