It’s true: You can find everything at Walmart, including a live scorpion.
A Pennsylvania man was pinched by a large scorpion while shopping for bananas at a Walmart in Scott Township on June 18, KDKA-TV reports.
The unidentified man told the station he was "standing there in a state of disbelief, not really believing that a scorpion had just grabbed onto me in Scott Township.”
“I yanked my arm out and flung it, and this scorpion flopped to the ground,” he said. “I was standing there in disbelief looking, and there was another shopper there, and people started to converge. And sure enough, it was a scorpion.”
The man had his 2-year-old and 3-year-old children in the cart. He threw a lid on the scorpion, killing it instantly. May it rest in peace.
Even though the man did not suffer any serious injuries, Walmart offered to cover his medical expenses.
After the incident, Walmart issued a statement to the Huffington Post: “We’re committed to providing our customers with safe, quality food products. As soon as we were made aware of this situation, we alerted our food safety team, our suppliers, and our third party pest control provider, who inspected the product and the store and found no other issues.”
