In the middle of controversy over many sitting or kneeling during the national anthem, country singer Jennifer Nettles delivered an inspiring rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" that would make any American proud (video below).
Before the "Battle at Bristol," in which the University of Tennessee took on Virginia Tech, several country stars including The Band Perry and Kenny Chesney took the stage to play for a record-breaking crowd of more than 150,000 excited fans. When Jennifer Nettles took the stage, everyone was stunned.
"Please rise and take off your hats," the man introducing Nettles said.
For the next two minutes, everybody in the crowd forgot their differences and stood while Nettles delivered her powerful take on the national anthem, accompanied by fireworks and a flyover.
Everybody in the crowd was visibly feeling patriotic while Nettles sang, and it's easy to see why.
