Since opening in 2009, Austin's Franklin BBQ has built a reputation of being one of the best BBQ restaurants in Texas.
Every day, hundreds of people wait in line for hours to try some of the restaurant's famous BBQ, and nobody gets to cut the line.
With the exception of President Barack Obama, Franklin BBQ has never let anybody cut the line, Austin.com reports. Not long ago, Kanye West learned just how serious the restaurant is about this rule.
"Kanye West wanted to cut the line and we didn't let him," the restaurant's general manager, Benjamin Jacob told The New York Times. "Everybody's equal."
The lines at Franklin BBQ have become such a big deal that locals have offered services as professional line holders to help people get their fix without waiting for hours. However, the restaurant's owners, Aaron and Stacy Franklin, put a stop to the practice.
"We owe it to the rest of our faithful customers to not allow the distraction," the Franklins told Eater, Wide Open Country reports. "We prefer to serve our customers in house, and not to have a second party representing our food and brand."
To this day, President Obama is the only person to have been allowed to cut the line.
It is unclear whether Kanye ended up waiting on line for his barbecue after management shut down his request to skip ahead.
