Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was reportedly shot down in eastern Ukraine on Thursday leaving all 298 passengers on board dead, but many Internet users came up with conspiracy theories about the tragedy.
Many theorists believe that because the plane, which was traveling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, is linked to the number seven, the Illuminati carried out the attack.
According to the Daily Mail, the number seven has long been associated with the secret society.
A blogger at IlluminatiWatcher.com wrote: “I followed the previous Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 (exhaustively) and concluded that it must've been aliens; one of the first conspiracy theories to surface, and until we hear otherwise I'm sticking with it. In that MH370 conspiracy theories post I referenced the fact that the alleged Illuminati might have been involved due to the number 777 being tied in. You'll notice that this MH17 was also a Boeing 777.”
Reddit user, ISayWhatEvery1Thinks took it to the next level by writing: “Mh17 (one seven) – a 777 has been flying for 17 (one seven) years, was shot down during the 17th (one seven) day of the 7th month of 2014. 2+0+1+4=7.
“295 ‘souls on board’ (Anderson cooper's words) 2+9+5=16 then 1+6 =7. A lot of 7s.
“Not sure if anyone watched the ‘number 7’ video,” adds ISayWhatEvery1Thinks, “Christine Lagarde, the chief of the IMF had some pretty cryptic uses of the number 7.”
Dates of MH17’s first and last flight coincides ...
Further reinforcing The Illuminati’s involvement, a New York Times journalist revealed the plane was shot down 17 years to the day since its maiden voyage.

Attempt to assassinate President Vladimir Putin
According to Russia Today, citing a report from Interfax news agency, the flight that was shot down was flying almost the same path as Putin’s presidential plane. Interfax quoted an anonymous source who claimed that the fallen plane was meant for Putin.
“I can say that Putin’s plane and the Malaysian Boeing intersected at the same point and the same echelon,” the source said. “That was close to Warsaw on 330-m echelon at the height of 10,100 meters. The presidential jet was there at 16:21 Moscow time and the Malaysian aircraft—15:44 Moscow time.”
"The contours of the aircrafts are similar, linear dimensions are also very similar, as for the coloring, at a quite remote distance they are almost identical", the source added.
Putin was on his way to Moscow from Brazil, where he attended the BRICS summit.
But Russia Today later points out that “there have been reports contradicting Interfax’s report,” with sources telling other media outlets the presidential plane has not flown over Ukraine for quite a while.
Many Twitter users alleged photos of victims’ passports discovered at the scene were in perfect condition to have been involved in the crash.
Flight MH370 and flight MH17 are the same plane
This argument lacked hard evidence, but it didn’t stop theorists from chiming in with their thoughts that MH17 was really MH370 — the plane that disappeared in March over the Indian Ocean on route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur.
