Jerry Sandusky Speaks: "I am Innocent of Those Charges"

| by Mark Berman Opposing Views

Accused pedophile Jerry Sandusky is speaking for the first time since being arrested for sexually abusing young boys, and he said he is "innocent" of the charges.

Sandusky spoke by phone with Bob Costas for a segment on "Rock Center with Brian Williams" Monday night. Sandusky said flat out, "I am innocent of these charges."

Sandusky did admit to acting in a way that some people might see as inappropriate.

"I could say that I have done some of those things. I have horsed around with kids, I have showered after workouts. I have hugged them and I have touched their legs without intent of sexual contact," said the former Penn State assistant coach.

If he did anything wrong, it was this: "I shouldn't have showered with those kids," he said.

But when Costas asked him if he is a pedophile, Sandusky answered with a resounding "no."
